Course Descriptions
Introduction to Ballroom Dance:
No partner needed. This course is intended for people new to
ballroom dancing. It focuses on the ballroom dance skills that
an individual should learn before learning to dance with a
partner. It will enhance your sense of rhythm, coordination,
and confidence on the dance floor. You will receive training in
the dance fundamentals needed to learn any ballroom dance.
You will learn the basic moves and rhythms used in the Waltz,
Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, and Rumba. A practice CD is
provided that helps you learn to pick out dance beats. Course
materials include diagrams of all of the steps covered in each
class.
Cost: $30 individual/ $50 couple (one set of materials)

Beginning East Coast Swing 1 & 2:
Swing 1 introduces the basics of triple time swing, its rhythms,
and how to lead and follow. You will learn the triple step, rock
step, simple turns and how to get into the cuddle, sweetheart,
and pretzel positions. You will be able to go out dancing before
the course is over. Diagrams of all of the steps and a practice
CD are provided.
Swing 2 builds on and adds to the steps learned in the first
East Coast Swing course. You will learn additional moves with
the cuddle, sweetheart, and pretzel positions, how to use
different hand positions to add variety to steps, and how to
easily connect several basic steps together. Diagrams of all of
the steps and a practice CD are provided.

Beginning Waltz 1 & 2:
Waltz 1 introduces the basics of Waltz, its rhythms, and how to
lead and follow. You will learn the basic box step, simple turns,
and rock steps that will add flare to your dancing. You will be
able to go out dancing before the course is over. Diagrams of
all of the steps and a practice CD are provided.
Waltz 2 builds on and adds to the steps learned in the first
Waltz course. You will learn variations for the basic box step,
more advanced turns, and how to travel along the line of dance.
Diagrams of all of the steps and a practice CD are provided.

Beginning Rumba 1 & 2:
Rumba 1 introduces the basics of Rumba, its rhythms, and how
to lead and follow. You will learn the basic box, simple turns,
the Rumba sway, and rock steps that will add style to your
dancing. You will be able to go out dancing before the course is
over. Diagrams of all of the steps and a practice CD are
provided.
Rumba 2 builds on and adds to the steps learned in the first
Rumba course. You will learn more advanced turns, rock steps,
break steps, how to easily connect several basic steps together,
and how to add simple variations to steps you already know.

Beginning Cha Cha 1 & 2:
Cha Cha 1 introduces the basics of Cha Cha, its rhythms, and
how to lead and follow. You will learn the Cha Cha Cha step,
rock steps, simple turns, and break steps that will add pizzazz
to your dancing. You will be able to go out dancing before the
course is over. Diagrams of all of the steps and a practice CD
are provided.
Cha Cha 2 builds on and adds to the steps learned in the first
Cha Cha course. You will learn more advanced turns, the Cha
Cha locks, and several variations for break steps. Diagrams of
all of the steps and a practice CD are provided.

Fitness Line Dance:
Get your aerobic workout while line dancing. Practice the
popular line dances and learn new ones. Class meets weekly.
No pre-registration necessary.
Cost per week: $10 per person

Dance Clinics:
The students pick the dances they want to review: Waltz,
Rumba, East Coast Swing, or Cha Cha. Dance Clinics are 4
weeks long. During each class period, the instructor reviews
several steps and allows ample time for the students to practice
dancing. While the students are dancing, the instructor
observes the students and offers suggestions for correcting
and improving the individual’s dance technique. (New students:
$40; former students: $30).

Private & Semi-Private Lessons:
Provides the ultimate in flexibility and focused attention.
Private lessons (1 or 2 people): $45 per hour. (Note: private
lessons purchased in groups of 5 get a $25 discount. You pay
$200 instead of $225.)
Semi-private lessons (3 or 4 people): $75 per hour. (Note:
semi-private lessons purchased in groups of 5 get a $50
discount. You pay $325 instead of $375.)
Beginning Foxtrot 1:
Foxtrot 1 introduces the basics of Foxtrot, its rhythms, and
how to lead and follow. You will learn the basic Foxtrot step
and how to follow the line of dance; simple turns, the sway, and
the promenade and outside partner positions. Diagrams of all
of the steps and a practice CD are provided.
